Part of a year-long Barr Foundation-funded accessibility initiative, One-Day Sponsorships subsidize all venue costs and provide local creatives $2,500 in discretionary funding.
AUGUST 15, 2022 – WORCESTER, MA – The Barr Foundation, in collaboration with the Worcester Cultural Coalition (WCC) and Jean McDonough Arts Center (JMAC), continues its support of a year-long accessibility initiative and is pleased to announce the Fall/Winter One-Day Sponsorship recipients.
Over a dozen applications were reviewed and evaluated. Round three recipients are:

“It’s exciting to see how many local creatives have been able to share their visions with the community thanks to this grant from the Barr Foundation,” noted Nikki Erskine, Marketing Directing of the Worcester Cultural Coalition. Erskine added that, since this Barr Foundation-funded accessibility initiative began in (February 2022), the funds have supported 13 creative and cultural organizations through One Day Sponsorships and Month-Long Residencies. An additional 30 creatives and cultural organizations have been supported through Rent Subsidies for the BrickBox theater.
“If there is ever any doubt as to the richness of Worcester’s creative sector, one only needs to look at the diversity of creatives supported through this initiative at the JMAC.” said Hank von Hellion, Managing Director of the Worcester PopUp at the JMAC.
“I gratefully accept this grant and sincerely thank you all for this opportunity. With this event, I intend to deliver something very special to uplift our community and honor this award,” added One Day Sponsorships recipient Kaz Supernova.
Support and funding of Fall/Winter Barr Initiative recipients will extend throughout the 2022 calendar year. Submissions are no longer being accepted for sponsorship opportunities.
