Tumbao Latin Dance was founded by Kristian Santos in 2016 as a local Latin dance studio in Worcester. Tumbao Latin Dance prides itself on building a friendly climate and culture where all levels of dancers can come together to learn and enjoy the diverse art of dance that helps us provide our students with the opportunity to experience the Latino culture as non-monolithic. Tumbao Latin Dance has created a community partnership with Worcester Public Schools by offering dance classes and other cultural events that promote the Latino culture and celebrate the Latino students in the Worcester Public Schools. We also serve a cohort of ~50 young people onsite at our studio every week, and additionally work with around 100 kids throughout the year at Vernon Hill, Rice Square School, North High, Burncoat Middle and Claremont Academy. One of our biggest achievements in recent years is that we have been able to engage other non-Hispanic communities and promote Latin dance as a global activity that can be enjoyed by many people from different cultures.
