We work with organizations to help challenge the stereotypes of the people they serve, companies for team building events, colleges for deeper introductions and discussing diversity, high schools as a social-emotional educational program including anti-bullying, and festivals of all kinds to capture the variety of communities.

Programming includes photo shoots, online activities, group conversations, and free curriculum.  For photography events, participants pose as the Three Wise Monkeys: See No Evil, Hear No Evil, and Speak No Evil; pick three labels that describe themselves; and write a good deed to show they’re “not evil” and aren’t defined by their labels. Participating encourages exploring our own labels, biases, and stereotypes, without the defensiveness these topics traditionally cause; while seeing the photos and stories of others online and in physical exhibits humanizes the labels we may not relate to, helps us find similarities with others that seem so different, challenges our assumptions, and starts constructive conversations.

The American Antiquarian Society (AAS) cultivates understanding of the American past, grounded in its ever-growing collection of printed and manuscript sources from the colonial period through 1876. Through wide-ranging programs, community engagement, and support for researchers and students of early American history, the Society works to cultivate a broad community of inquiry―locally and nationally.

Since its founding in 1812 by Revolutionary War patriot and printer Isaiah Thomas, AAS has assembled what is today the world’s largest and most accessible collection of books, pamphlets, broadsides, newspapers, periodicals, children’s literature, music, and graphic arts material printed before the twentieth century in what is now the United States. The library of over four million items also includes a substantial collection of secondary texts, bibliographies, digital resources, and reference works. AAS is also a learned society with more than 1,100 members, who are elected based on distinctive achievement in academic or public life. In 2013, the Society was the first independent research library to be awarded the National Humanities Medal and was cited for “safeguarding the American story.”

The Worcester Children’s Chorus provides choral music education and performance opportunities for Worcester County children aged 8-18. For ten years, WCC has delivered professional-level instruction in vocal technique, music theory, sight singing, ear training, and presentation, as well as an exposure to a variety of choral styles. Rehearsals are based at Assumption College and performances take place at the college as well as venues around Worcester County with occasional tours both nationally and internationally. Auditions are scheduled each fall and spring and are also available upon request.

Apple Tree Arts’ mission is to enrich the community through the arts, by providing high-quality educational music and theatre arts programs for individuals of all ages.

We teach early childhood music for children birth – age 9, including group keyboard classes for ages 6-9, as well as teaching music in area preschools and libraries. We also teach private instrumental and voice lessons, with ensemble opportunities, as well as a community chorus and a jam band. Our theater program includes youth theater productions and creative expression programs, as well as community theater for adults.

We have many concerts, theater productions and student recitals throughout the year, in our newly restored Great Hall in Grafton.
