Musicians of the Old Post Road

Musicians of the Old Post Road is a chamber ensemble, based in the Boston area, that regularly performs in Worcester. The ensemble specializes in the period instrument performance of dynamic and diverse music from the Baroque to early Romantic eras. Its repertoire includes compelling “rediscovered” works that have been lost to audiences for centuries. Founded by Artistic Directors Suzanne Stumpf and Daniel Ryan, the ensemble takes its name from its acclaimed concert series, originally entitled Old Post Road Historic Concerts, begun in 1989. The concert series brings period instrument performances to historical buildings such as meetinghouses, churches, mansions, and museums. The venues trace the route of the old Boston Post Road, the first thoroughfare connecting Boston and New York City beginning in the 1670s.

The Village Worcester

In September 2020, after the murders of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, & countless Black folks by police, the Stone Soup Artist/Activist Collective and Community Resource Center transitioned into The Village. The Village is a new Afrocentric cultural, learning, & healing center in the Main South neighborhood of Worcester, MA. The Village builds grassroots power by connecting BIPOC groups, healers, and individuals whose work is rooted in racial justice, learning, creativity, community, & healing.

Greater Worcester Opera, Inc.

Greater Worcester Opera is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization whose two-fold mission includes opera performance and education. The company produces one mainstage opera in June, an annual summer concert series, touring operas for students, and a variety of other performance events including library concerts and lectures, private functions, and other concert events. GWO strives to provide high quality, entertaining operatic productions to the audiences of Central MA, while at the same time providing valuable performing opportunities to the area’s wealth of local, professionally-trained singers.

Assabet Valley Mastersingers

The Assabet Valley Mastersingers (AVM) is a community chorus of about 65 SATB vocalists in Northborough, Massachusetts.

Choir members are experienced singers, ranging from 16 – 75+ years of age. They represent a diverse community joined together by the vision of Artistic Director, Dr. Robert Eaton, the love of choral music and the challenge of performance. AVM performs in the Shrewsbury, Northborough, Westborough, Southborough and Marlborough area, presenting three major concerts annually plus a Messiah Sing. The choir has been performing since 1978 and enjoys a reputation for excellence in choral performance. Performances employ professional soloists and on 2 concerts full Free-Lance orchestra.

They inspire, educate, and empower a people to be who they were born to be. It is our goal to expand qFLIX Worcester, now a 5-day festival, with monthly community films and workshops. qFLIX Worcester is fueled by the passion of our all volunteer staff.

Founded in 1986, the Alice Coonley Higgins Institute for Arts and Humanities enhances the intellectual and cultural life of Clark University by fostering connections between the humanities disciplines — English; History; Language, Literature and Culture; Philosophy; and Visual and Performing Arts. We sponsor public programming and campus initiatives, fund curricular innovation and creative practice, and support teaching and research through our grant programs.
