Our ongoing mission affirms the centrality of the arts and humanities to our lives and promotes the intrinsic values of a liberal arts education. In cultivating the ability to read great texts and artistic forms, to frame analyses and arguments on the most important questions, to speak and listen with open intensity, and to examine our own deepest assumptions, the humanities bring value and purpose to lived experience. In 2008, the theatre was a winner of a National Trust for Historic Preservation Award for its renovation and restoration of the original 1904 building. Since its opening, POLLSTAR consistently ranks The Hanover Theatre as one of the Top Theatres in the World. Its conservatory offers dance, acting, singing and technical design classes, both online and in person, to students of all ages in state-of-the-art studios. The organization’s mission is to foster a love and appreciation for the performing arts in audiences of today and tomorrow and its most recent initiative, THT Repertory (THT Rep), is committed to engaging, entertaining and energizing audiences with dynamic theatrical events made in and for Worcester’s BrickBox Theater, focusing on classics, modern classics and classics-inspired works.
